If I had to choose one word to summarize the theme of the shift we are undergoing this year and next, it would be agency. The dictionary defines agency as the capacity to act. This ability to choose a direction and exert your will is at the heart of the Aries archetype, which plays a starring role in the new epoch we are entering.
Saturn, the archetype of authority and maturity, emerges from Piscean dreamland into Aries this Satur(n)day, May 24th, for the first time in almost 30 years. Saturn’s move is part of the larger backdrop of outer planetary shifts stimulating the transformation of the world.
In a recent article in Rune Soup, Gordon White noted that “the whole living cosmos is a chorus of agencies, both physical and spiritual.”
In other words, you have agency and so does every other being in the cosmos, from moon and stars to lions, tigers, and microbes. There are more subtle levels of agency to consider: your checking account, marriage, home, devices, and even the internet itself (and certainly AI) all have agency. You are not in control, and neither is any one of them. In fact, when you enact your will you contribute to the chorus of all beings. And when you don’t, or you act based on your conditioning rather than in alignment with your soul, the world misses out on your unique voice.
The emphasis on Aries over the past couple of years - starting with the North Node, eclipses, and Chiron and continuing with Neptune, Venus and Saturn - is pointing each of us toward reclaiming our agency. The Aries line-up tasks you with honoring not only your right, but your duty to exist. And, your responsibility to express your unique frequency - to add your voice to the chorus, and weave your thread into the tapestry.
